36mL Volume 3-Partition Pipetting Reservoir for ELISA
Printables page →
This reservoir is designed for pH-dependent ELISA wash steps. It holds three separate buffers or solutions at once, so an entire row can be washed in a single top-to-bottom pass with one multichannel pipette — useful for any workflow that needs three solutions on hand at the same time.
Ours was printed in PETG, chosen for its resistance to the mild saline solutions common in ELISA wash buffers (I wasn't the one who ran the print, so I can't speak to the exact settings used). If you're printing your own, 50% infill or higher is recommended to help reduce leaking between compartments — it hasn't been formally tested for leaks yet, so keep that in mind.
The design is fully parametric in the included Fusion 360 file, so chamber size, wall thickness, and tip spacing are all easy to adjust for other setups. It was built with help from Claude, which I'd recommend to anyone making modifications.
UPDATE 1 — Some happy news! I tested the print by leaving 12 mL of water per partition, and the part didn't leak at all for over 2 hours. We were successfully able to conduct 6 rounds of ELISA washes without any problems, and we loaded the blocking solution from this part after washing the part with ddH₂O between the buffers. Seems like so far so good!
